My experience with Glow and Miyoko far exceeded my expectations. I truly had an amazing and fantastic experience. I had heard about this service from one of my colleagues who met a wonderful person through this site, so was willing to give this a try, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, I thought this might be a great time to have somebody match my needs and expectations. I had been dating online for several years and without much luck in finding a life partner. I've had fun with the process, but I found that it really takes a ton of dates and work to find someone worth dating. Still, what I came to realize is that, in order for me to really go the distance with someone, I needed someone truly spectacular. Enter Glow service. We received the following message from one of our female members, who provided an update regarding a man she met through our service.
"In February I moved to the state where he lives. We visited his family at the end of February and stayed with them for a week. I had a chance to meet his cousins, aunt, uncle, and all his relatives, and they were genuinely nice people. I really enjoyed meeting them.
I was assigned to the homestay program and started school from my host family's house in March. On weekends, I was spending time with him. However, due to COVID-19, I was no longer able to go to school and my classes were switched to online, so I cancelled my homestay and moved into his place.
This fast move was not what we expected but living together gave us a chance to get to know each other much better, and we are very happy. Since he was off the last two weeks of March, we were together all the time at home. However, he went back to work this week. During this time, we discussed a lot of things like where we will live, how we will raise our kids, what kind of family we want to have. In our case, this shelter in place order gave us a great opportunity to make our relationship closer and tighter.
Of course, I'm hoping this corona virus situation gets better, but because we are in this together, we try to make rules together, look after each other's family, and enjoy the time at home. We were planning to visit Japan to meet my side of the family, but now we don't know if it will be possible. I hope the virus will be contained soon.

2018 WEDDINGS

We received a card from a newlywed couple who had a wedding in January, which brought us a very warm feeling. The couple had a common hobby, which is running marathons. They also sent us a picture they took after they finished a marathon. Both of them looked so happy that it made us happy. We congratulate them for starting a new life together (which is like a marathon) and wish them a happy married life.
In January 2018, two member couples married. One couple married in Hawaii, and the other married in Tokyo. We had a great start, and we anticipate more weddings this year.
LONG-DISTANCE LOVE
It’s been such a long time since you matched us. I hope you remember me (Hirakawa), the Japanese-American who you helped meet my wife. When I was your customer, you and other staff introduced me to a lady whose name was Mami (not real name) in November 2006. Since then, we overcame the long-distance relationship and married in December 2008. And this year, we celebrated our 9th anniversary, which was just 9 days ago.
Mami is my soul mate and my life partner. When we have different opinions, we are able to tell our opinions and thoughts to understand each other. She is an ideal partner for me. She is also very positive and expresses her grateful feelings, so I enjoy our conversations.

It has been a long time since my greeting to you last April. It is already Fall now, and we can see a lot of pretty red leaves around here.
We got married at the end of April, and we spent Golden Week planning our wedding in Japan. We were also getting ready to move to the U.S. at the same time, which made us really busy― but we got through it and had our wedding at the beginning of June. We went on our honeymoon in mid-June and then moved to the U.S. together to start our new life.
We finally got settled in August. Since my wife didn’t have a driver’s license in Japan, she had to get a beginner’s permit here. Even though she got a beginner’s permit, she won’t be able to get a regular license for six months. That means she will have to wait until February to drive by herself, which makes our life a little inconvenient.
Right now, my wife is in Japan visiting her family. Since she was planning this trip for a long time, I believe she is having a relaxing time. She is returning next week, but she will still have to wait to drive by herself a little bit until February.
I've attached three pictures of us. The first is a picture from our wedding. We had our families and a few friends, but we were happy to be able to have a wedding. The second picture was taken on our honeymoon. Since my wife really wanted to wear a wedding dress, we signed up for a photo plan to have our pictures taken at a church in Hawaii. The third picture was taken at the top of the mountain in a state park nearby. We both like to hike in the mountains, and that day we hiked for about four hours to make it to the mountaintop.
As I already mentioned, my wife is in Japan now, so I’ve been spending time alone, which haven't experienced for several months. It is so boring. (laugh) I remember that I started looking for a wife when I thought that spending time alone was not fun anymore.
Since July, my life with her has been filled with laughter. Sometimes I get scolded by her, but most of the time I apologize and she forgives me. (laugh) It hasn’t been even six months since we got married, and only nine months since I met her for the first time. We have always supported each other, and I want to continue to do so and do our best here in the U.S.
I still don’t know when, but I would like to visit San Francisco to see you sometime in 2018. It is going to get colder from now on. Please take care of yourself.

This summer (2013), I registered for Glow with the intention of finding a lady of special qualities that I had not been able to find by myself through different social circles over the years, being of non-Japanese descent. Some brief highlights of the effort were:
• Handling very specific requirements on physical appearance (both facial and body type), educational background and character traits.
• Personally composed a detailed personal profile whose tone and content were specifically targeted to the Japanese lady audience, with pointers on professional profile photography process as well. From feedback, the Japanese ladies were impressed with the quality of profile in comparison to profiles they received from other agencies.
• A trip to Japan, for which the preparations were difficult and under a short timeframe. In this case, there were multiple rounds of outreach to convince ladies I was interested in to attend, resulting in their final attendance. In addition, several ladies required booking at the last minute, a day before the scheduled meeting slots upon my arrival in Japan. Cross-country coordination at night time occurred between multiple Glow staff and sister company staff to ensure the ladies could confirm and attend.
These efforts and more resulted in a successful meeting with a committed, high character and beautiful Japanese lady, just in time for the holidays. We have enjoyed an extended amount of time together during the holidays and received compliments on the character and beauty of the lady from my friends of various backgrounds.
